Brrrrrrrrrr!

It is super cold out tonight! The girls and I are at my parents for the weekend while CDP attends a men's conference in Atlanta. We drove down after school today and we made it just in time for the ice! Woo Hoo! Roads are icy and slick yet people still drive like it's sunny and seventy degrees! Amazing! Please pray for hubs and the other guys as they are away and that they will be challenged in the Word and God speaks to them in mighty ways. I issued a challenge to some of you about reading the Bible through chronologically and some of you have accepted the challenge! I would love to know how God is speaking to you as you read His love story. If you desire, post a snippet in the comments section to encourage others in their journey. I've learned so much and God has revealed many things about His character! It basically comes down to this: we love those we communicate with, we communicate with those we are comfortable with, we are comfortable with those we know! God wants us to know Him in the most intimate ways. That's why He took so much care to give us an entire book about His character. Every story declares who He is. Every word breathed onto pages for our benefit. Every genealogy written to show us He really cares about little ole me. I am learning about my Redeemer. I am seeing for the first time just how sin grieves Him and how He ALWAYS gives a way out. He even gives FOURTH chances....remember Cain? My God is good! He is good in all circumstances! I am learning.........

Sorry....

Okay, I was unable to upload the photos I mentioned in the earlier post. So, I've made some changes and here are a couple that just make me smile. There are times that I am completely overwhelmed at the depth of love God has given me for my two girls. Ballet agrees with SJ. And SC loves to drink coffee...cold at that! God is good!

Spring?

Dare I say it? Is spring right around the corner? I'm guessing I had better not get my hopes up since the weather
Channel is calling for snow and sleet on Tuesday! Oh well! I will enjoy the 60 degree temps while they last. This week has been super busy. Birthday parties tomorrow and a visit with a new little girl on the block and then hopefully some tennis. I am so ready to play! SC and her Dad were out and about today. Check her out in her cap! And SJ really loves ballet, as you can tell! This is going to be a great year! Later!

Snow again and Challenge

Yes, we're looking at about half an inch of snow on the ground. We're not sure if school will be closed or not. We are hoping so! I'm afraid I didn't run out and grab milk and bread though. I hope I don't regret that!

Anyway, think about this for a moment. When you pick up a book to read, do you start at chapter 19, and then move to chapter 2? No. Why then do we read God's Word in such a manner? Books were designed to be read from beginning to end. God's Word is a book. Ordained to be communicated to us in written form. I challenge you this year to consider reading the Bible through chronologically. Remembering that it's not a book of stories but one story. The ultimate love story. A story of redemption that cost the life of our Father's one and only unique Son. A story that develops one character, our God!

Ramblings

So, I've found a great restaurant salsa recipe! Check out Pioneer Woman on her blog and search for Restaurant Salsa. It is FABULOUS! I'll try to NEVER buy the jar stuff again. The cilantro is the key. We've had a great week despite the sub-zero temperatures. The girls and I have enjoyed having some time with Daddy at home! The snowmen are still, well, somewhat standing. You see, we had 6. Yes, 6 snow people. One for each of our family and the 2 dogs. We had a great time playing in the snow.

I have another recommendation for those of you with toddlers. The Jesus Storybook Bible by Zonderkids. Each story ends with reference to Christ. Each story points to Jesus! Great read for bedtime. And, drum roll please, SJ made 100 on her first spelling test! This girl is awesome! I'm so proud of her! SC continues to amaze me! So sweet and loving and so funny! As SC and I were driving to pick up SJ last week, we were listening to a song by Kari Jobe called Save Me and SC belted out the words, "Save Me, Lord, Save Me"! My heart melted and immediately I asked God to do just that. To work in her heart even at the age of 3 to know that Jesus can and will when she calls on His powerful name. She understands grief and sadness. She also knows that Jesus can heal that too. Thank you Jesus for children and the reminder that we are to come to You with childlike faith.
